The Cavaliers have reportedly picked up Kendrick Perkins’ contract option for 2018-19.

The move is strictly meant for trade purposes as the Cavs’ front office hopes to attach Perkins’ salary in a deal that would improve the roster ahead of LeBron James’ free agency decision.

A Frank Mason 3-pointer sealed the deal, as he drilled a 26-foot trey to help put the game out of reach with 22 seconds remaining. He added a pair of free throws moments later to ice it, finishing with 16 points.

Point guard De’Aaron Fox led the Kings with 23 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals. Power forward Harry Giles III, making his pro debut, added 13 points.

The Lakers led by as many as 12 in the first half and went into halftime up, 54-48. The Kings fought back in the third quarter, tying 67-67 Justin Coleman Jersey by the end of the period and then taking the lead for good, 69-67, with 9:11 remaining in the fourth quarter as Mason fed Zach Auguste for a a dunk.

Korkmaz complemented his aforementioned game-high scoring haul with six rebounds, two assists and one steal. Isaiah Miles was the only other Sixer with double digits in the scoring column, generating 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists and one block.

Norvel Pelle collected eight points, five rebounds, one steal and one block. First-round pick Zhaire Smith followed with seven points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal. Devyn Marble, Devondrick Walker and first-round pick Landry Shamet all had matching six-point tallies.

Two seasoned Celtics (by Summer League standards), Semi Ojeleye and Guerschon Yabusele, co-led Boston with 16-point efforts. Ojeleye added two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block, while Yabusele also registered seven rebounds, two assists and one steal.
